Ambient IoT — a tag with no battery
Ambient IoT is 3GPP's name for a device with no battery: it lives on the energy it can harvest from radio waves, light, motion or heat, and it stores what little it keeps in a capacitor. Sixteen groups have filed documents about it, across 179 meetings, and the paperwork now runs to 10771 documents against 37 named pieces of work. This course is for somebody who has to follow a conversation about that work — what it is meant to be, which group did which part, which documents were written, and how far each piece has got. Every number and every quotation here points at the file or the database row it was read from, and the last chapter is about what that record cannot tell you.
