5.51.2.1 General
Taught in 27. Overload, energy, deployment and the rest (The 5G system architecture, in depth).
The Energy Information Function (EIF) is defined to:
- collect the UE related Energy Consumption information;
- calculate the Energy Consumption information at UE, S-NSSAI, PDU Session and Service Data Flow (e.g. per UE per application) granularity; and
- expose the Energy Consumption information defined in clause 5.51.2.4 to the authorized consumer NF(s) (AF/NEF, PCF).
Procedures for energy consumption information collection and exposure are defined in clause 4.29 of TS 23.502 [3].
In this Release of the specification, collecting and calculating of UE related Energy Consumption information is supported only for the UP resources of the 3GPP access type serving the UE in the 5GS.
