6.2.9 AF Subscription for Uplink Application Container Transfer Procedure

The procedure describes how an AF subscribes to DO-A data delivery from the specific DO-A Device(s).

1. The AF sends the Subscription request to the NEF for DO-A data delivery. The request includes the AF ID, Target device information (AIoT Device Permanent ID(s) or Filtering Information) and Notification target address (i.e. notification endpoint of the AF).

2. The NEF discovers the AIOTF as described in clause 5.3.1.

3. The NEF sends the Subscription request to the selected AIOTF with the AF ID, Target device information and Target address (i.e. notification endpoint of the NEF).

4. The AIOTF interacts with the ADM and authorizes the AF request to subscribe to DO-A data delivery for the AIoT Device(s), based on the AF authorization data stored in the ADM as described in clause 5.6. If the Subscription request is not authorized, steps 7-8 are executed with an appropriate error code in the Subscription response.

5. If Filtering Information is provided to the AIOTF, the AIOTF queries the ADM to retrieve a list of AIoT Device Permanent Identifiers by providing the Filtering Information.

6. The AIOTF updates AIoT Device Profile data to store the notification information for the target AIoT Device(s) identified by the AIoT Device Permanent ID(s) provided by the AF in step 1 or retrieved from the ADM in step 5.

7. The AIOTF sends Subscription response towards the NEF indicating the result of the Subscription request from AF.

8. The NEF sends Subscription response to the AF indicating the result of the Subscription request from AF.

9. Optionally, if the DO-A Capable AIoT Device is registered to the network, the ADM notifies the serving AIOTF (which can be different from the selected AIOTF handing the Subscription request) for the updated AIoT Device Profile Data. If the AIoT Device is not registered to the network, the serving AIOTF will get the target address(es) from AIoT Device Profile Data once the AIoT Device performs the Registration procedure as described in clause 6.2.6.
