6.2.10.2 Registration Procedure

As described in clause 4.2.2.2.2 of TS 23.502 [4], during UE registration procedure, UE includes the UE reader capability information in the UE MM Core Network Capability to indicate whether UE is supported to operate as an AIoT UE Reader.

Based on the UE MM Core Network Capability and the UE subscription data retrieved from UDM, AMF determines whether the UE is authorized to operate as an AIoT UE Reader. If authorized, AMF sends the authorization indication of UE reader to the serving NG-RAN via NGAP message. NG-RAN shall only use the authorized UE reader(s) to perform the AIoT service operation.
