6 How a CT1 meeting runs, in real numbers

Five days, six hundred documents and six outcome words — what the record of a CT1 meeting actually contains.

6.1 A week at a time

184 CT1 meetings are listed, held and planned together [2], and 172 of them had started by August 2026 [3]. The earliest one the meetings database holds began on 2005-04-25 [4] — where the store begins, not where the group did. Earlier meetings existed; they are not in this data.

Not all of them have a document record. 133 meetings have documents against them [5], which is the number to use when you want to say how far back the paper trail runs.

The last six held and the next three planned show the rhythm and the travel:

Every one of those runs Monday to Friday, five days. That is visible in the dates and nowhere else in the data — no agenda is recorded, so the shape of the week itself has to be read off a calendar.

6.2 What a week costs in paper

C1-161 is the last meeting with both a report and a full document record C1-161. 617 documents were put to it [6].

172 people are listed as taking part [7]. The meeting before it, C1-160, lists 165 [8].

Six hundred documents against five days is the number that tells you what kind of week it is. What happened inside those five days is not in the data at all: there is no agenda, no minutes and no record of any debate.

Who brings the papers is a long tail. 415 different organisations put at least one document to CT1 in the year [9], with six well ahead of the rest:

Those names are the names the documents carry. They are filers, not companies in a company register: "Huawei, HiSilicon" is one string, and "Apple (Guizhou)" and "Apple Inc" are two different ones.

6.3 The six words

Every document that goes into a meeting comes out with an outcome word attached. For C1-161 the register carries six of them:

At C1-161 more documents came out revised than agreed, and by a wide margin. That is the most useful shape in the table: the common outcome of a paper is not acceptance or refusal but another version of itself.

6.4 What was opened, not just closed

A meeting also starts things. Nine new or revised work items were agreed at C1-161 [22], against five at C1-160 [23].

A WID is a work item description, the document that opens a piece of work; a SID is a study item description, which opens a study instead. Both words are the register's own, taken from the document type each row carries.

Those nine open work rather than change text, which is why they are worth reading even when the change requests around them are not. Where that work ends up is the one-year table in What the group owns, and what it actually works on.

6.5 The report, and how much to trust it

Each meeting produces a report, and the report has a state. C1-160's report is approved [24]. C1-161's is still a draft [1].

The next meeting, C1-162, has not happened. 69 documents are already filed under it [25], which is normal and means nothing about outcomes: nothing has been agreed, revised or postponed there, and nobody should write that it has.
