3GPP 21.900 v20.0.0 — the document's own text

8.0 Overview

Taught in 8. How a 3GPP meeting decides, and the word it decides in (How standards actually get made, in depth), 6. Two ways of deciding (How standards actually get made, overview).

WGs may apply email decision procedures for decisions they are entitled to take, as defined by superior bodies (e.g. on specifications, CRs, Liaison statements, etc.). Each WG may set its rules for making email decisions, however, it is required that:

  • the rules are clearly defined and documented;
  • a delegate having participated in plenary meetings is able to identify that he has possibly missed an email relevant to email decision.

Clauses 8.1-8.6 describe an email decision procedure example.
