16.18.11 Flight Information Reporting for Aerial UE

Core network can instruct a gNB to perform flight information reporting for an Aerial UE by providing multiple pairs of altitude reporting thresholds and, for each pair, the corresponding TAI or cell ID or NG-RAN ID and optionally reporting periodicity as specified in TS 23.256 [60], clause 5.16.

The gNB should report the Aerial UE flight information and corresponding time stamp when the gNB receives such information from the Aerial UE.

Core Network can also instruct the gNB to stop performing the flight information reporting for the Aerial UE. The gNB can also indicate to the Core network that an ongoing flight information reporting is failed.
