5.12 DO-A Capable AIoT Device Registration

The DO-A Capable AIoT Device registration procedure is used by the DO-A Capable AIoT Device to inform the network of its presence and get authenticated/authorized by the network. After successful registration, the DO-A Capable AIoT Device and the AIOTF establish an AIoT Device context

Once registered and if applicable, the DO-A Capable AIoT Device updates its registration with the network when it determines that the current registration context needs an update (e.g. mobility registration update and periodic registration update).

Editor's note: Whether and how to support the periodic registration for DO-A Capable AIoT Device is FFS.

For mobility registration update, the determination is based on the AIoT Registration Area that is allocated by the AIOTF to the DO-A Capable AIoT Device, which is based on local configuration, and the AF provided information.

Editor's note: Whether and how the AF provide the information (e.g. trajectory information of the DO-A Capable AIoT Device) to determine the AIoT Registration Area is FFS.

A DO-A Capable AIoT Device shall not respond to an inventory request before completing the registration procedure.
