The motivation would be to enable such an identifier to be used by an AF, e.g., EES, to identify a specific UE to the core network in place of a UE address (i.e., IPv4\/IPv6 address or MAC address). Answer 1: SA WG2 provides feedback in S3-230631\/S2-2302163 that the functionality of binding EECID and UE ID is unlikely to be addressed in R18. Without this service procedure, there is no basis to develop the security solution(s) on. Question 2 to SA WG3: Furthermore SA WG6, requests clarification on a EN presented in clause 8.3.3.3.2 of TS 23.558: Whether the EECID and the UE ID included in request of EDGE-1 & 4 interactions is part of the security credential is SA WG3's responsibility , specifically whether EECID is authenticated by the ECS and EES such that the EECID can be considered a verified identifier? Charging for EAS in shared EHE SA WG2 is discussing solutions in which the PLMN serving the UE routes the traffic to another PLMN s EHE, without involving any 5G NFs in the other PLMN, i.e., no UPF\/SMF in the other PLMN will be involved. SA WG2 would like to ask GSMA OPG the following: - Q4. Are the normal online and offline charging models expected to be applied to this scenario? - Q5. Do they have any additional considerations on the charging aspect? GSMA OPG: Answer to Q4: Yes, normal online and offline end user charging mechanisms are expected to be applied for Edge Node Sharing. As described above the serving operator (operator B) is in full control of this. Answer to Q5: In addition to and separate from end user charging, the partner (operator A) may charge the serving operator (operator B) for the usage of Edge resources as defined in PRD OPG.02 clause 5.1.5. Furthermore, the serving operator (operator B) may in turn charge the Application Provider for usage of resources. Charging solutions for Edge Resource usage is assumed to be in the scope of SA WG5.
