Without the principle of 'catch-all' entries for the 5G ProSe direct discovery, the UE will not be able to initiate a 5G ProSe direct discovery procedure over PC5 for the ProSe services that do not have explicit mapping rules. Hence, in order to enable the UE to initiate the 5G ProSe direct discovery over PC5 for the ProSe services that do not have explicit mapping rules, CT WG1 has discussed and agreed to add a 'catch-all' entry for the ProSe identifier to default destination layer-2 ID for initial discovery signalling mapping rule in the policy\/parameter provisioning for 5G ProSe direct discovery (see attachment).
