Answer: RAN WG3 has specified the Time Synchronisation Assistance Information (i.e. the 5G access stratum time distribution indication and the Uu time synchronization error budget), which is transferred during handover as follows: For NG-based handover, the AMF provides the Time Synhronisation Assistance Information to the target gNB via the NGAP: HANDOVER REQUEST message. For Xn-based handover, the source gNB provides the Time Synchronisation Assistance information to the target gNB via the XnAP: HANDOVER REQUEST message. The AMF may update the information via the NGAP: PATH SWITCH REQUEST ACKNOWLEDGE message.
