In Rel-17 Work Item IMSProtoc17, CT1 made a few data channel related specifications in TS 24.229. From March 2023, CT groups was starting to specify Data Channel usage in IMS network under Rel-18 Work Item NG_RTC, especially CT1 specified new signalling, media functions and protocol details to support Data Channel. And in March 2024, the Rel-18 CT1 WI has been complete and closed._x000D_\n_x000D_\nRAN5 would like to share updates of developing IMS data channel conformance testing from RAN5 side. Initially in order to develop conformance testing as soon as possible, the Rel-17 RAN5 Work Item IMSProtoc17_dataCH-UEContest has been approved in RANP#100 meeting June 2023 since RAN5 can only proceed conformance test for signalling part based on CT1 Work Item. However, the difficulty is the signalling part in Rel-17 CT1 specification is not complete and enough at the system level. Considering the Rel-18 CT1 WI is better for RAN5 to take reference for developing IMS data channel conformance test, the Rel-17 RAN5 WI IMSProtoc17_dataCH-UEContest was stopped in RANP#104 meeting June 2024. And instead, a new related Rel-18 RAN5 WI has been submitted and endorsed in RAN5#104 meeting August 2024 and it would be submitted to upcoming RAN#105 meeting for approval in September 2024._x000D_\n_x000D_\n2. Actions:_x000D_\nTo [GSMA TSG] group: RAN5 would not develop API conformance testing. RAN5 will proceed the conformance testing focus on the signalling part, for example SIP exchange.
