{"name":"R5-234772","title":"Discussion on handling of PRD21 v160","source":"CMCC, China Telecom, Huawei, Ericsson","contact":"Dan Song","contact-id":86282,"tdoctype":"discussion","for":"Endorsement","abstract":"Some R18 High power CA\/DC configs are put into RAN4 R17 WI incorrectly:\nObservation 1 : Based on the approved WF R4-2217119[1] and CR R4-2303706[2], many higher order PC2\/PC1.5 configs which are requested in Rel-18 HPUE WI, have already been incorrectly added in RAN4 Rel-17 specifications under RAN4 Rel-17 WIs. \nObservation 2: When importing these four RAN4 completed R18 CADC Configs into PRD21 list (including: CA_n77(3A) with UL n77 PC2, CA_n77C with UL CA_n77C PC2, DC_13A-48A-66A_n77A with UL DC_13A_n77A, DC_13A-48A-66A_n77A with UL DC_66A_n77A),  it turns out these 4 R18 high power CADC configs were already introduced into RAN5 R17 WIs following RAN4 WI layout.\nAs per Observation 1, these 4 R18 High power CA\/DC configs are put into RAN4 R17 WIs and RAN4 Specs incorrectly. As a result, RAN5 introduced these configs into RAN5 R17 WIs accordingly. Later on RAN4 reintroduced these R18 configs into R18 specs under R18 WIs again. However, these four configs had already been introduced into PRD21 list by RAN5 Rel-17 WIs.\nObservation 2: When importing these four RAN4 completed R18 CADC Configs into PRD21 list (including: CA_n77(3A) with UL n77 PC2, CA_n77C with UL CA_n77C PC2, DC_13A-48A-66A_n77A with UL DC_13A_n77A, DC_13A-48A-66A_n77A with UL DC_66A_n77A),  it turns out these 4 R18 high power CADC configs were already introduced into RAN5 R17 WIs following RAN4 WI layout.\nAs per Observation 1, these 4 R18 High power CA\/DC configs are put into RAN4 R17 WIs and RAN4 Specs incorrectly. However, these four configs had already been introduced into PRD21 list by RAN5 Rel-17 WIs.\nObservation 3: \nConfig CA_n77(3A) with UL n77 PC2  and  CA_n77C with UL CA_n77C PC2 are in both RAN4 R17 Spec(38.101-1 ha0) and R18 Spec(38.101-1 i20); \nConfigs DC_13A-48A-66A_n77A with UL DC_13A_n77A PC2 and with UL DC_66A_n77A PC2 have been moved from RAN4 R17 Spec to R18 Spec(38.101-3 i20);\nObservation 4: As per PRD21[3] guideline Section 4.1 Point 13, no new configs\/new bands\/new BWs shall be introduced into Chapter 5 of TS 38.521-1\/2\/3, unless they have already been completed in RAN4. \nProposal 1: PRD21 list only imports RAN4 completed configs which have already been introduced in RAN4 specs (38.101-1\/2\/3). \nProposal 2: In PRD21, for R18 HP CADC Configs in  both RAN4 R17 and R18 specs, to add \"Rel-17, Rel-18\" into \"Release\" Column, to add RAN5 R17 and R18 high power WIC  \u201cHPUE_NR_CADC_NR_LTE_DC_R17-UEConTest\u201d and \u201cHPUE_NR_CADC_NR_LTE_DC_R18-UEConTest\u201d into \"WIC\" Column, and to add corresponding descriptions in \u201cComments\u201d Column.\nProposal 3: In PRD21, for R18 HP CADC Configs removed from RAN4 R17 spec to R18 spec, to repalce \u201cRel-17\u201d with \"Rel-18\" in \"Release\" Column, and to replace RAN5 R17 HP WIC with R18 HP WIC \u201cHPUE_NR_CADC_NR_LTE_DC_R18-UEConTest\u201d into \"WIC\" Column.\nProposal 4: For further RAN4 newly completed R18 high power configs which share the similar situation above, Proposal 2-3 also are to be applied.\nObservation 5: For the LTE anchor agnostic inter-band EN-DC configurations including FR2 NR CC(s), if there are no corresponding FR2 test cases defined in TS 38.521-2, the inter-band EN-DC configuration including FR2 NR CC(s) can not be tested at all. So it is meaningless to add them into TS 38.521-3 Section 5 without any applicable\/testable test cases defined in RAN5 specs.
