IMS text has also previously been part of some test coverage, but removed due to lack of industry interest._x000D_\n2\tDiscussion_x000D_\nThe Annex B according IR.92 [2] and NG.114 [1] for features needed in certain regions includes \u201c\u2026there are regulatory requirements that allows deaf\/hearing impaired people to use text-based communication\u201d._x000D_\nAccording to the EU directive 2019\/882 [3], Annex I Section IV, requirements related to specific services are captured: _x000D_\n\u201c(a) Electronic communications services, including emergency communications referred to in Article 109(2) of Directive (EU) 2018\/1972: _x000D_\n  (i) providing real time text in addition to voice communication; _x000D_\n  (ii) providing total conversation where video is provided in addition to voice communication; _x000D_\n  (iii) ensuring that emergency communications using voice, text (including real time text) is synchronised and where video is provided is also synchronised as total conversation\u2026\u201d_x000D_\n_x000D_\nThe 3GPP TS 34.229-1 [4], TS 34.229-2 [5] and TS 34.229-5 [6] are not up to date for real time text test coverage.  _x000D_\nThe purpose of this document is to agree a way forward for IMS text testing.
