Network Controlled Repeater (NCR) is composed of NCR-Fwd (Forward) and NCR-MT (Mobile Termination) entities. While NCR-Fwd entity has similar functionality as Rel-17 NR Repeater, the newly introduced NCR-MT entity enables control link communication over Uu interface, to exchange side control information._x000D_\nPractical NCR-MT implementation of the NCR type 2-O is expected to reuse FR2 UE chipset. Therefore, related MT-specific RF requirements were following FR2 UE specification. When it comes to NCR type 2-O conformance testing (TS 38.115-2), it was decided in RAN4 agreed to reuse some of the RAN5 test requirements (including TT values) for MT-specific testing, as captured in TS 38.521-2. More specifically, the following tests in TS 38.115-2 refer to RAN5 specification TS 38.521-2: _x000D_\nOTA ACLR, OTA OBUE, OTA Tx spurious emissions, OTA transmitter transient period, OTA reference sensitivity, OTA maximum input level, OTA adjacent channel selectivity, OTA blocking characteristics, OTA spurious emissions_x000D_\nDue to reuse of the MU\/TT values from TS 38.521-2 for some MT requirements of the NCT type 2-O (Local area class), the device size limit (i.e. 30 cm) for FR2 UE was also considered when specifying the conformance testing requirement._x000D_\nIn case of OTA maximum input level, OTA ACS and OTA blocking characteristics, it was observed that those test requirements in TS 38.521-2 do have open issues, or are considered as not testable due to OTA testability issues. However, the corresponding phantom definition and UE positioning for LTE device above 72mm in width is missing in 3GPP LTE specifications._x000D_\nTo ensure the compliance of the requirements in EN 301 908-13, there are two possible solutions:_x000D_\n1.\tTRP\/TRS phantom definition and positioning guideline for UE above 72mm in width is supplemented by 3GPP RAN4 and RAN5 in LTE specifications._x000D_\n2.\tTRP\/TRS phantom definition and positioning guideline for NR UE wider than 72mm specified in TS 38.161 is reused in ETSI LTE UE specifications (EN 301 908-13). _x000D_\nMSG TFES would highly appreciate 3GPP specification updates and\/or feedbacks before March 2025 to facilitate timely completion of LTE UE harmonized standard._x000D_\n2. Actions:_x000D_\nMSG TFES would respectfully ask 3GPP RAN4 and RAN5 to include TRP\/TRS phantom definition and positioning guideline for UE above 72mm to LTE specifications by March 2025.
