GSMA LS (TSG50_012) has informed 3GPP RAN5 of the publication of GSMA PRD NG.134 since the document was expected to be the input into RAN5 conformance._x000D_\n_x000D_\nAt GSMA TSG#56 the GSMA Terminals Steering Group (TSG) has approved GSMA PRD TS.66 - IMS data channel API specification [3] and the document is now published on GSMA website. TS.66 specifies the IMS data channel Application Programming Interface (API) for DCMTSI client in terminal as defined in GSMA PRD NG.134 and implements the data channel connectivity layer. As such the document enables the data channel interoperability across different OEMs and closes the final standardisation gap in the data channel ecosystem. Now, both the minimal set of protocol features to enable the protocol interworking is defined in GSMA PRD NG.134 and the cross-UE interoperable API supporting the protocol is defined in GSMA PRD TS.66. _x000D_\n_x000D_\nTSG#56 has also approved phase 2 of data channel work and the following topics are prioritized and might be of interest to different 3GPP technical specification subgroups. _x000D_\n1.\tSecurity aspects of data channel (new PRD document) aim to provide the data channel applications trust and security analysis and might result in further communications with 3GPP SA3, or 3GPP SA6 subgroups._x000D_\n2.\tJavaScript API conformance test cases (new PRD) document will contain the JavaScript API conformance test cases to be applied to UEs to establish its compliance to GSMA PRD TS.66 and further communications with 3GPP RAN5 might be involved._x000D_\n3.\tOpen-Source SDK development and release (software) is an initiative that is discussed by TSG members that aims to develop and release to the public the open-source Software Development Kit (SDK) that is compliant to GSMA PRD TS.66. The SDK would provide the reference implementation and would enable the Communication Service Providers and developers to enter the marketplace. Once released the SDK would also provide the validation of concepts described in 3GPP Rel-16 TS 26.114._x000D_\n4.\tVideo pipeline and GSMA IR.94 extensions (new PRD) document would be the extension of GSMA IR.94 and would provide JavaScript API allowing to manipulate programmatically video media type.
