It was proposed to convert 38.331 into a markdown (MD) document and to use Git (a version handling tool used by software developers) for storing revisions of the MD file in which companies add their review comments during the ASN.1 review. Subsequently, after the ASN.1 review, the MD document would be converted back into the original docx format. _x000D_\nAt RAN2#129, RAN2 agreed to perform Git trials in RAN2 [1]. The trials are to verify the feasibility of maintaining 6G specifications and change requests as markdown-, asn1-, msc-, and JSON- files as well as storing, revising and review in 3GPP\u2019s Git\/Gitlab platform. If the trials are successful, it is expected that 6G CRs could be written in Git._x000D_\nIn this document we provide more details about the envisioned RAN5 workflow and possible file formats. _x000D_\nThe first 6G study item in 3GPP RAN is set to begin soon. While the development of 6G specifications won\u2019t take place this year, RAN2 has already started discussions on improving the maintenance of specifications and change requests (CRs) earlier in the process._x000D_\nWe recognize 3GPP\u2019s established processes, particularly the fact that RAN5's work typically follows that of the core groups. For example, multiple meetings will take place before 6G-related activities formally begin in RAN5. Therefore, there is no expectation for RAN5 to engage in Git testing activities at this stage. However, if a company requests such testing, it would not be precluded.
