This assumption has limitations on the location of NR UL carriers, supported UE channel bandwidths and so on. During the Rel-18 discussion of how to specify PC2 requirements in band n28, it is a desire from industry to evolve duplexer implementation and RF architecture for band n28. Hence, a RAN4 Rel-19 WI has specified PC2 and 40MHz for band n28 considering the UE evolution and operators’ deployment requirement._x000D_
The Release 19 RAN4 work item NR_n28_PC2_40MHz_CBW has introduced requirements for UE Power Class 2 and 40MHz Channel Bandwidth for NR band n28 as optional features, including the following aspects:_x000D_
• Introduce requirements for PC2 and those associated with following bullets_x000D_
? Both 1Tx and 2Tx PC2 are supported_x000D_
? UL-MIMO is supported._x000D_
? Specify A-MPR requirements for PC2_x000D_
• Introduce 40MHz Channel bandwidth located in UL: 703 - 743MHz and DL: 758 - 798MHz for band n28 supporting PC3 and PC2._x000D_
? Allow flexible channel allocations within the frequency range (UL: 703 - 743MHz and DL: 758 - 798MHz) for BW<40MHz._x000D_
• Release independence of UE 40MHz Channel bandwidth is from Rel-16._x000D_
• No changes to the existing requirements (38.101-1 v18.5.0) (including A-MPR values and RB allocation regions) for power class 3 with existing channel bandwidths up to and including 30MHz to avoid impacts on existing power class 3 networks. In the event of new regulatory requirements, this assumption can be revisited._x000D_
For the Rel-19 RAN4 work item NR_n28_PC2_40MHz_CBW, the overall completion level for core part has reached 100% after RP#106 (December 2024).Therefore it is justified to introduce the conformance testing for PC2 and 40MHz Channel Bandwidth n28 UE into RAN5 specifications._x000D_
4 Objective_x000D_
4.1 Objective of SI or Core part WI or Testing part WI_x000D_
The objective of this RAN5 work item is to define the corresponding PC2 and 40MHz Channel Bandwidth n28 UE conformance requirements, the test cases, applicability, test environment, test points and update the relevant conformance specifications for the R19 PC2 and 40MHz Channel Bandwidth n28 UE requirements introduced by RAN4.

The solutions were based on N3IWF, which was responsible for handling the interoperability between non-3GPP networks and the 5G core network. However, with the widespread commercial deployment of VoWiFi, ePDG has become the primary way for addressing non-3GPP access. ePDG was not supported for R16/R17 ATSSS, but was introduced in the Rel-18 ATSSS WI, which will better align with the current network deployments. In addition to that, switching of MA-PDU sessions over two non-3GPP access paths within the same PLMN was also supported in this release._x000D_
The completion level of the core part of the 3GPP Rel-18 ATSSS work item in CT1 achieved 100% in March 2024, and the Rel-17 ATSSS related testing specifications were completed in May 2024.
