RAN5 has completed the UE conformance tests for MCS for Release 15 and Release 16 (scheduled to be completed in September 2024). RAN5 needs to address developing test specifications that relate to Release 17 MCPTT, MCVideo and MCData requirements for both LTE and 5G._x000D_\n4\tObjective_x000D_\n4.1\tObjective of SI or Core part WI or Testing part WI_x000D_\nThe objective of this work item is to provide conformance test specifications for the Rel-17 core requirements for MCPTT, MCVideo and MCData. The RAT for this Work Item is both LTE and 5G NR. A new series of specifications (3GPP TS 37.579-x), under 3GPP TS 37-series (Multiple radio access technology aspects series), is proposed to contain mission Critical Services test cases for both LTE and 5G NR RATs in the same specification. _x000D_\nAll contents of the existing LTE MCS test specifications (TS 36.579-x series) will be transferred to the corresponding proposed TS 37.579-x series specifications, which will be the initial content of the proposed TS 37.579-x series specifications. Subsequently, the TS 36.579-x series will be turned into pointer specifications to corresponding TS 37.579-x series specifications. Rel-17 MCX test cases for both LTE and NR RATs will be added directly to proposed TS 37.579-x series._x000D_\nIt is possible that the core specifications may have included the functionality in releases prior to Rel-17 for a new test case, but it was deemed not necessary to test at the time under previous RAN5 work items. Associated generic test procedures, default message definitions and other related material for the new test cases will be included in the proposed TS 37.579-1. Applicability and other related material for the new test cases will be included in TS 37.579-4.
