{"name":"R5-254898","title":"LS on NB-IoT NTN OTA Testing","source":"CTIA Cart OTA WG","contact":"Ingbert Sigovich","contact-id":28887,"tdoctype":"LS in","for":"Information","abstract":"The CTIA Certification OTA Working Group would like to update relevant industry organizations on the NB-IoT NTN OTA test development.\nDiscussion\nThe CTIA Certification OTA Working Group recently finalized the inclusion of NB-IoT NTN OTA testing for NTN bands 255 and 256 as informative in Version 9 of the CTIA OTA Test Plan.\nCTIA Certification has approved TRP and TIS OTA test cases for NB-IoT NTN using the 3GPP TS 36.521-4 test procedures for maximum output power and reference sensitivity as the baseline for TRP and TIS, respectively. To address excessive test time concerns, especially the sensitivity search for TIS, the approved OTA test procedures deviate from current 3GPP TS 36.521-4 test procedures as follows:\n1.\nFor both TRP and TIS, implementation of a co-located configuration was selected where the UE location is the same as the satellite location, and the k-Offset is set to 0ms.\n2.\nFor TRP and TIS, P0(Nominal PUSCH) may be adjusted higher in order to ensure that the DUT transmits at maximum TX power\n3.\nFor TIS, the uplink is control only, i.e. no user plane PUSCH data shall be configured.\nThe CTIA Certification OTA Working Group elected to include NB-IoT NTN OTA testing as only informative in Version 9 of the CTIA Certification OTA Test Plan to allow time for system provider validation of the deviations listed above. The CTIA Certification OTA Working Group expects to transition the NB-IoT NTN OTA testing to normative in Version 10 of the CTIA Certification OTA Test Plan pending successful authorization of test equipment; additionally, CTIA Certification plans to incorporate NR NTN OTA test cases in Version 10. Version 9 of the CTIA Certification OTA Test Plan is planned for release by the end of this year.
