This is aligned with the 3GPP Radio Access Network work in releases based on 5G and 5G-Advanced [1]. A smooth and practical evolution path from 5G to 6G shall be ensured, recognising the long development and life cycles of the verticals, especially for the automotive industry. Given the different development cycle of the automotive industry, compared to smartphones, the adoption of new communication technology in vehicles takes longer time. Additionally, the expected lifetime of vehicles is significantly longer than it is for smartphones or consumer electronics. However, 5GAA is already studying the automotive requirements for future evolution in 3GPP. Through this liaison statement, 5GAA strongly urges TSG SA and RAN to thoroughly consider the following critical automotive requirements, as outlined in [1], within their respective 6G Study Items. Such a conclusion was the baseline for corresponding stage-2\/3 specification work. Given that, the request from CEPT ECC Plenary to consider possible solutions to manage the NTZ enforcement at the network level goes in a different direction and would require further study\/work.
