Answer #1: In order to focus the work, RAN WG2 study that addresses UE capability ID based solutions should first consider solutions applicable for 5GS, if CN is involved (and can later consider whether they might be applicable for EPS) RAN WG2 also agreed to make the solutions for UE capability signaling optimization that are based on segmentation\/compression mechanisms over the air CN agnostic For solutions that are based on UE capability IDs, RAN WG2 should first consider the case where NR is the master node. As a second step, solutions for NR should then be adapted to work in the LTE is master node.
