SA WG5 would also like to inform ETSI TC EE that we have launched a new Rel-16 Work Item 'Energy efficiency of 5G', in which we will define, amongst others, data volume measurements, in conjunction with TSG RAN working groups. SA WG5 will inform ETSI TC EE when these measurements are defined. SA WG5 welcomes ETSI TC EE proposal to have a joint meeting to discuss the topics of Energy efficiency for 5G in 1H2019 in Europe, preferably either the week before or the week after SA WG5#126 meeting. Data Volume measurement will be part of EE KPI for 5G. For LTE today, those measurements are defined by RAN WG2 in TS 36.314, and referenced by SA WG5 in TS 28.425. In similar way for 5G in R16, SA WG5 will refer in TS 28.552 to the Data Volume measurements defined by RAN WG2 (what this LS is about).
